Custom Monitors

Monitor your own endpoints, next to the vendors you depend on

Add your own site, API, or server and watch it the same way you watch AWS or Stripe. Server response, SSL certificate expiry, and domain registration checks — plus internal services you set by hand, for the infrastructure nothing can probe from the outside.

Your stack and your vendors, one place

Server response

Watch any HTTPS endpoint and know your own site or API is down before your customers tell you. Same dashboard as the vendors you already track.

SSL certificate

Get warned before a TLS certificate lapses, so a forgotten renewal never turns into a browser security warning for your users.

Domain registration

Track when your domains are due to renew and get an alert with runway to act, not a scramble after the domain has already dropped.

Internal services

Some things cannot be probed from the internet — a print server, site Wi-Fi, an on-prem ERP. Declare them and set their status by hand, so they sit on the same board as everything else.

The same alerting

Your custom monitors ride the same routing as your vendors. Send them to Slack, PagerDuty, or a webhook, with recovery notifications when they clear.

Shareable on a board

Your own endpoints and internal services can go on a status board next to the third-party vendors, so the people who ask see one page instead of two.

Common questions

What can I monitor?

Four kinds. Server response watches any HTTPS endpoint; SSL certificate warns you before a certificate expires; domain registration warns you before a domain lapses; and an internal service is one you declare and set by hand, for infrastructure that cannot be reached from the internet. All four live on the same dashboard as the vendor status pages you already track.

What is an internal service?

A monitor with no probe behind it. Nothing can check your print server, your site Wi-Fi, or an on-prem ERP from the outside, so you declare it and set its status yourself. It then behaves like any other monitor — it appears on your dashboard and can go on a status board you share.

Can I put my own monitors on a status board?

Yes. Custom monitors and internal services can be included on a board alongside third-party vendors, so a client or a team sees one page covering everything they depend on rather than two.

Which plans include custom monitors?

Custom monitors are included on the paid plans. The exact number you can add scales with your plan; the current limits are on the pricing page.

Do custom monitors use the same alerts?

Yes. They route to the same channels as your vendor monitors, with the same severity rules and the same recovery notifications when they come back up.

How is this different from an uptime tool?

It is the other half in one place. You watch your own endpoints and the third-party vendors you depend on side by side, instead of running two separate tools.
