There was an incident (https://www.fastlystatus.com/incident/376675) affecting our CDN provider (Fastly) which resulted in 5xx errors for customer in some regions. This was on Fastly's side so our ability to investigate and remediate the problem was quite limited. Connectivity depended on what CDN node your browser hit, so it was regional and intermittent. Affected users saw see 502 errors on all application routes.

Today we introduced a change to the TLS certificates that serve our backend API services to reduce the number of hostnames they listen on. Unfortunately this introduced a minor incompatibility with our CDN configuration that caused a connectivity issue for about 5 minutes from 3:10 to 3:15. These errors redirected affected users to the login page for the duration of the incident with an inability to log in. A fix has been applied and we will investigate further as to how to prevent this category of problem in the future.
