Report: "Downtime in US applications due to a third-party outage"
Last updateLeadSquared uses Cloudflare for its WAF (web application firewall) to protect against attacks and improve security. To access LeadSquared applications and APIs, the traffic is routed through Cloudflare WAF. There was a 27 minute outage of Cloudflare services that caused LeadSquared users in North America to lose access to LeadSquared for the same period. Here is a detailed incident report from Cloudflare https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-outage-on-july-17-2020/ We are working internally to limit the impact of such incidents to less than 10 minutes by taking alternate traffic routes.

Last updateWe have rerouted our traffic from Cloudflare to our application load balancers directly. DNS records take some time to reflect and hence the delay.
All our applications and services are behind Cloudflare for security. Cloudflare CDN was down and caused high latency in accessing LeadSquared applications.

Last updateThe issue was caused by mass replacement of our application servers hosted on AWS EC2. The issue was automatically resolved in 10 minutes. We are looking at ways to avoid performance impact due to such mass replacements.
Some of the Singapore users (run.leadsquared.com) may experience web application slowness. We are investigating the cause and will address it ASAP.

Last updateThe issue was identified in one of the tenant database servers. We observed a sudden drop in memory after which our DevOps Team upgraded the DB instance. Some accounts were migrated out of the shared cluster to relieve the load.
Small group of Users (in21.leadsquared.com) experience web application slowness. We are investigating the cause and will address it ASAP.

Last updateUsers on the web and mobile were affected. when our configuration databases became unresponsive and shot up to 100% CPU. All applications which connect to these data stores hanged as the database was refusing connections.
